Title/ "You Were There" for my beloved Brother

by Pamala
(ILLINOIS)

To Hold my Hand when I was small,
To pick me up when I would fall.
We Laughed and Hugged and said funny things, both of us not knowing what life would bring.
One Day you left and went away. I felt sad, confused, I did not know what to say. Many years have past us by and now you are gone, you've died. Have you once again gone far away?
No, for you are here with me till eternity. In my heart and soul is where you'll forever stay.

A year to the date after my Brother's passing, I woke up at 6:30a.m. And felt compelled to write. None of the words felt forced. It just felt right and came to me within minutes. Since his passing 14 years ago I have written other poems as well for other family members and a few for my brother.

I hope you will consider posting and sharing with the bereavement community. I am quite interested in creating a Book of poems for the bereaved just haven't figured out how to start or where I would want it made accessible. I have also written short articles for neighborhood papers.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thank you
