One more wish

by Baz Busbe

This is a poem I wrote recently as I sat longing to be in the arms of the man I loved one more time.

All the hours spent loving you
Why did they have to end?
My soulmate, my lover, my friend

All the laughter you and I made
Why do I hear only silence now?
I need to reach you, if only I knew how

All the wise words you spoke
Why can I no longer hear your voice?
I'll keep searching, I have no choice

All the times you dried my tears
Why is comfort so far away?
Oh to be in your arms one more day

All the years we walked life together
Why do I now walk alone?
I feel so far away from home

All the dreams we had together
Why have they all vanished?
Oh, if I could just have one more wish
